Music Performance Coaching
Sometimes when working on something for a while, there comes a point where we feel "stuck." Online research, forums, and online videos only get you so far. If you want guidance, advice, or motivation that’s personalized to your situation, book a coaching session to help gain clarity.
What's Performance Coaching?
A coach helps you move forward, work through problems, find solutions, and make the most of your skills. From academic coaches, health/wellness fitness trainers, sports/athlete coaches, to career coaches, musicians and those in the arts can also benefit from coaching.
Using my experience as a teacher, solo performer, accompanist, and researcher, I’ll help you regain confidence in your own abilities. I'll remind you of what you're already doing well and focus on finding solutions to get you closer to where you want to be. Tell me what you're struggling with, we'll review strategies you've already tried, and I'll suggest options to help you get back on track!
“He helped with phrasing and exaggerating the dynamics. He also suggested the method of practicing sixteenth note runs slowly and varying the rhythms. We talked about picturing a scene or color when playing. I felt that he gave very helpful advice in how to make my solo sound more musical.”

I’m available to answer anything piano, music, or performance related! It could be as simple as asking about a piece you want comments on that you're preparing for an audition. You can run through a piece and I can offer my observations, musical feedback and suggestions. Or you can ask about a technique or concept you've discovered online or are working on with your teacher and you want another perspective.
Topics can range from a technique struggle, overcoming mental blockages, fingering questions, piano literature, questions about majoring in music, music as a career, or practice help.
